Thursday September 24, 2015 – Deputy President William Ruto has joined former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in calling for the sacking of Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Miss Anne Waiguru, over corruption allegations.
According to a State House insider, Ruto demanded for the suspension of Miss Anne Waiguru over the disappearance of Sh 791 million from the National Youth Service (NYS) and Sh 1.9 billion courtesy the IFMIS scandal.
Ruto argued that if President Uhuru Kenyatta suspended five Cabinet Secretaries due to corruption allegations, he should also suspend Waiguru because all Cabinet Secretaries are equal.
The DP spoke on Sunday after details emerged that Uhuru wanted to appoint new faces in Cabinet and sack the suspended Ministers.
Among the suspended CSs include Lands Cabinet Secretary, Charity Ngilu, Energy CS, David Chirchir, Labour CS, Kazungu Kambi, Agriculture CS, Felix Koskei and Transport CS Engineer, Michael Kamau.
Ruto insisted that Koskei and Chirchir must be reinstated or URP cuts links with the Jubilee Alliance.
Ruto also insisted that if the two were dropped from the Cabinet, then Waiguru had to be suspended to give room for
investigations into alleged fraud and theft at the NYS.
